Barcelona’s Third Willian Setback BUT it Will Happen Soon
It is very rare that a team of Barcelona’s stature fail to get their man but so far Premier League side Chelsea are proving stubborn in transfer dealings as the Spanish champions aim to take their attacking midfielder Willian and make him a permanent fixture at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona may be favourites to retain their title after Real Madrid sold prize asset Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, meaning those Betting with a promo from Bitstarz can take extra benefit from the La Liga betting market, but so far, they are coming in second place in the transfer market dealings with the London Club.
A third bid of £55 million was tabled and readily rejected by the Chelsea hierarchy with the Blues making it clear that if Barcelona want Willian, they may have to pay over the odds for the 29-year-old.
However, there is an air of inevitability that come the end of the summer, Willian will be plying his trade in Barce colours as opposed to Chelsea’s.
This is despite new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri claiming he wants face to face talks with the attacking midfielder and that he is confident that all of Chelsea’s potential rumoured outgoings will stay at the club.
The reason the deal will most likely happen is because it makes more sense for Chelsea to sell than it does for Barcelona to buy.
Sure, Willian is a very good player and has excelled during his time in England’s capital having made over 150 league appearances and playing a major role in the Stamford Bridge club winning two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a League Cup during his time in London.
His versatility is admired around the World with sixty-two caps for Brazil testament to that, but it is his ability to score from seemingly nothing that appeals to Barcelona who rely heavily on an aging Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
That said, Willian is hardly an up and coming youngster himself and, in a few weeks, will move out of his twenties and into his thirties.
Rumours continue to spill that Willian has become discontent with life in Chelsea after five years at the club and one last big move to Barcelona would interest anyone.
Now would be a good time for Chelsea to sell as they are seemingly set for a big shake up under Sarri.
However, with three rejected bids already table, a fourth will be coming, but it will also be the final bid with Barcelona no fools either.
Neither are Chelsea and just so long as there is a small increase, you sense an offer will be accepted with Barce finally getting their man and Chelsea getting more cash than they probably expected.
