We’re excited to report that we will see a rather large contingent of Barca players at this year’s World Cup in Brazil.
Starting with their native Spain, whilst it is a provisional 30 man squad where a further seven players will be cut, Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Pedro, Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Cesc Fabregas all did enough to impress Spanish boss Vicente del Bosque and make the preliminary selection.
Next up we go to hosts Brazil who, according to liveworldcupodds.com are the bookies’ favourites to win the World Cup and their attack will be spearheaded by record signing Neymar who joined the Catalan giants under a year ago. Joining him will be flying-full back Dani Alves whilst fellow defender Adriano wasn’t fortunate enough to be included.
Of course, boy-wonder Lionel Messi makes the cut for Argentina, as does Alexis Sanchez who will be appearing for his native Chile. Other notable mentions are Alex Song for Cameroon and Javier Mascherano for Argentina.
